A chat with Alex Brown, Product Owner at Mutual Vision

We caught up with new MV Product Owner Alex Brown to find out a little about him and why he’s so excited to have joined MV.

What is your background? Where have you joined us from?

I’ve worked within the Financial Services sector for just over 16 years. In that time, I have been fortunate to work for banks, building societies, brokers and now Mutual Vision. My early career was within customer services, this was a great platform for me to understand what people need and want from their financial services provider, from there  I spent a little over 10 years working within the mortgage and equity release brokerage field both on an employed and self-employed basis.

My step into the Product Owner role came from recognising in the previous business I worked for, there were areas I could help them improve and I wanted to lead this on behalf of the Advisers. In my tenure as Product Owner, I was introduced to multiple business areas so I have developed a sound understanding of compliance requirements including consumer duty obligations, whilst innovating the platforms and processed used by advisers.

What appealed to you about working with digital banking platforms?

I firmly believe that any person of any age should have the opportunity to use the financial services sector, most importantly, these products should be simple and user friendly.

Having been the end user of so many financial services digital systems, now felt like a great opportunity to use both my industry knowledge and personal experiences to try and shape the future of digital banking platforms.

What appealed to you about working at Mutual Vision?

Mutual Vision is in the midst of a ground breaking transformational project, there isn’t a better time to be involved.

My passion lies in creating user friendly revolutionary digital solutions whilst ensuring the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Mutual Vision shared with me their plans, goals and ethos. I felt these aligned very much with my own. I wanted to be part of a forward thinking organisations strategy.

I’m excited to have joined Mutual Vision at such a pivotal point in their history. There is a great opportunity to be part of a proactive team engaging with our customers about how we can help them and their communities futures.
