Mike Russell

There were many exciting developments at Mutual Vision in 2023 and with more to come this year we caught up with Professional Services Director Stu Robinson to find out a little more about him and get his thoughts on future opportunities for MV and the sector.

What is your background? Where have you joined us from?

My career began some 30 years ago in the engineering/defence sector and for the last twenty-plus years, I’ve worked in a range of industries running large-scale professional services implementations and delivery programmes across the globe including the Middle East and APAC as well as the UK. This has included leading global commercial operations as well as building project management and delivery teams and paved the way for my career progression. My most recent role prior to joining MV was as Chief Operating Officer at a successful and growing Fintech startup where I had responsibility for developing and leading the delivery, support, client success and HR teams as well as the myriad other operational responsibilities that come as standard with the role of COO.

What appealed to you about working with digital banking platforms?

The Fintech sector is moving at pace and its thrilling to continue as part of the movement. The plans that we at MV have in place now and the opportunities we have identified for the future are awe-inspiring.  Continuing my professional journey in the sector was a no-brainer and working alongside an inspiration SLT only adds to the attraction.

What appealed to you about working at Mutual Vision?

The opportunity to work with another growing Fintech developing new products to challenge the market status quo and at the cutting edge of new technology was a huge attraction to joining MV. As with any business, but more so with smaller enterprises like MV, a positive and trusting culture with open communications is paramount and this was evident throughout the process of my joining.

What’s also positive is that I have joined the business during a period of change and I am really excited to be working with Tim Bowen and the other members of the senior leadership as we work on the business strategy for 2024 and beyond.

What does the future have in store for Professional Services as an offering at MV?

Lots!  We launched a PS Service Catalogue earlier this month to clearly define the work packages and outcomes that our customers can access. Not only does this make the selection of services far easier for our customers to select, it also allows us both to enjoy defined services bookings and of course a more cost effective benefits realisation. We are also working on some exciting additional and complimentary services that reflect the feedback of the MV user group, but more about this later this year!
