Case Study: Tandem Bank

In 2020, Tandem Bank acquired the £100 million pound mortgage book of a private banking firm. Migrating large amounts of data from one core banking platform to another is not a simple task, and with over 300 clients to migrate from the previous platform to their own MV Core Banking System, Tandem reached out to Mutual Vision to implement the project.

 

What was the challenge?

After acquiring the mortgage portfolio in 2020, Tandem had just eight weeks (which happened to fall over the Christmas period) to successfully move over 300 clients on to their MV Core Banking system without incurring any disruptions or delays.

The obvious challenge at first was to complete the project successfully within a short frame of time. Another major factor was that Mutual Vision were tasked with moving data from one platform, that contained different configurations to our own version of MV Core Banking. Ensuring data accuracy and performing the migration without disrupting the service for our customers was paramount.

Why were Mutual Vision the best partners for this project?

Tandem was already a customer with Mutual Vision and had enjoyed a positive relationship with them so far, so it made sense to embark on this project together.

 

What was the working relationship like with Mutual Vision?

Throughout the project, the relationship was very positive and supportive. Mutual Vision’s Project Team worked diligently to ensure that the objective goals of the project were met to a high standard, within the given timeframe.

Given the tight deadline, Mutual Vision quickly assembled a Project Team and within two weeks we had already determined the scope of the project, worked through the discovery phase and set out a project plan. During this time, engagement between Mutual Vision was of a high standard and the project team showed real agility and proved that they could move at a fast pace.

 

Have you required any ongoing support from Mutual Vision?

Since completing the project, Tandem engaged with Mutual Vision with specific SQL queries and Mutual Vision set out a training plan for the team at Tandem to ensure the ongoing success of the completed project.

 

How was the implementation received by customers?

Tandem’s end customers were not aware of any disruption which was a great result. Within the organisation we were pleasantly surprised that Mutual Vision managed to pull it off so effectively within a small-time frame.

 

Do you have any plans to work with Mutual Vision in the future?

Based on our previous relationship, we are definitely open to collaborating with Mutual Vision in the future.
